What is Tapping?

I’ve been tapping for more than five years now and have found it to be a very useful way to release “stuck” emotions. Tapping is also known as Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT. I got into EFT after a therapy session and found it to be great for getting me out of an anxious state.

Tapping involves making a karate chop motion on nine key points, while repeating an affirmation out loud. It’s something you have to practice often for it to work and when I was doing it all the time, I would tap for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night.

Interestingly, when the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, I found myself reacquainting myself with tapping and it helped to quell the low level anxiety I was feeling as a self-employed business owner.

You can tap using any affirmation, but I like to go to this awesome YouTube channel, Tapping With Brad. On this channel, Brad shares lots of good ways to tap and has videos that you can follow along with.
